Friends of Mother Earth (FME) has signed a cooperative agreement with Universidad Mayor de San Simón (UMSS) in Cochabamba, Bolivia for joint research and collaborative work across scientific, technological, and cultural fields. Under the agreement UMSS and FME will develop joint actions aimed at strengthening academic, research and community capacities in the environmental and sustainable development fields. Areas that are referenced in the agreement include, but are not limited to, mitigation and reduction of the impacts of climate change, with an emphasis on forest fires, risk management, and community capacity building.
